• Since 1984 Shihan Byrnes students have represented the United States in 41 International events, winning a total of 25 medals, with 13 being Gold.
• Since 1984 Shihan Byrnes students have won 269 medals in National Traditional competition, of which 104 are Gold.
• Opening the Dojo in 1970 Shihan Byrnes became a full time instructor running classes both day and evening, seven days a week.
• Shihan has taught in excess of ten thousand students, the school won over 18,000 awards in local, regional, national and international events. After thirty-six years of teaching Shihan still prefers teaching as many classes as possible stating, “I started out as an instructor. I became a teacher, and now I am an educator.”
• Since1970, the school has performed in over 600 demonstrations at schools, community organizations, malls, etc.
• Special seminars are given for local police departments as well as the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Department. Participating in these seminars are several law enforcement people who are Bushi students.
• Martial arts/physical education instructor Hahnemann University (special program- last year high school-first year college in one year).

Gwynedd-Mercy College- 1996 to Present.
• Established USAKF, Inc. Penna. Non-Profit educational group to train and develop athletes for National and International Karate competition utilizing rules governed by United States and International Olympic Committee’s-1987 to Present. Currently acting as Chairman for Pennsylvania and member of National Board of Directors.
• Has opened classes to LD (learning disabled) students for many years and has had great success with dyslexia, CP, ADD, AD/HD and various other physical and mental disorders. Our success has caused numerous referrals from Counselors, Physicians, Educators and Juvenile authorities.
• Defensive Tactics Instructor - Horsham Clinic (inpatient mental health hospital) Special program designed for staff members in controlling acting out patients. Program included eight-week in-house instruction, plus consulting on housing safety and removing of potential weapons.
• Shihan Byrnes is a Founding member of the USA Jujitsu Federation and elected to the USA Jujitsu Hall of Fame in 1999.
