Jeet Kune Do

Jeet Kune Do originated in the late 1960s. It was Bruce lee’s innovation that led to its creation. He combined the best and the practical aspects of Wing Chun style with the elements of Western boxing, trapping and grappling along with influences from various other martial arts to develop a fighting style that he called Jeet Kune Do, the “Way of the Intercepting Fist”.

Bruce Lee did invent any new style or a composite style nor did he look for modification that would set it apart from any already existing method. He preferred that his followers were free of restrictive style, molds and patterns. Jeet Kune Do gave the world the necessary exposure that Chinese martial arts needed. This led to the westerners eager to learn this art. It promulgated interest in other martial arts also like Japanese, Okinawan and Korean. Bruce Lee’s influence in spreading martial arts was more than any other man.
